Düsseldorf: Connectment on the road

At the end of September, the team travelled over to Germany to celebrate hitting the second quarterly target. The weekend was packed with travel, escape rooms, good food and of course, DRINK! It wouldn’t be a Geordie trip without it.
Alstadt
On Friday, we travelled to Dusseldorf and immediately hit Alstadt. We partied the night away at Fatty’s Irish Bar and Dä Spiegel. We met some lovely German folk who taught us a thing or two about dancing and finished the night with a lovely chicken kebab curtsey of the gaffa.
Escape Rooms, Rhine and football!
Saturday we woke up and decided to exercise our brains by going to an escape room. We were trapped inside the ‘Mental Asylum’ trying to escape the wrath of some delusional doctors. Although we gave it our best shot we were unable to escape (we’ll blame it on our small hangover and not our incompetence).
Not to worry though, as the day had much more ahead of us! The Rhine Tower is 240.5-metre-high and has a beautiful view of Düsseldorf. Luckily for us we didn’t have the climb the 960 steps to the top!

You can take the boys out of Newcastle but you can’t take Newcastle out of the boys! The boys went off to watch the Magpies play, which didn’t end as well as we hoped… But they still had a lovely day bonding over the Toon whilst the girls went to Cali Dreams, an Instagram museum.
Recruiters turn Models?
We lived our model dreams, posing with cars, massive pink ball pits and unicorns! The Cali Dreams Museum is one of a kind with all sorts of different setups including signature cars, unicorn carousels and huge pink swimming pools filled with pink balls!
Having the Thai’m of our lives!
We reconnected for a lovely meal at Natcha Thai before hitting the town again for our last night in the ‘dorf.
Our last day on Sunday was spent mostly avoiding the torrential rain we had managed to escape over the weekend. After ducking under umbrellas and finding some tasty food to eat on the way, it was time to head home.
What an eventful trip it was! At Connectment, we love taking time to celebrate our team’s achievements. A trip away not only motivates us for the next quarter but builds our relationship as a team.
